History

Brief history of our class...

It was way back 1990, the year when Mt. Pinatubo erupted in fiery flames, when 10 boys and 11 girls burst into the air - conditioned TPS Preparatory classroom. And from these wee pupils began the existence of the Seniors Batch 2001 - 2002, that became one of the most unforgettable batches in The Peninsula School.
All the attention was captured by the high - pitched voice of Jennifer Belarmino, who left after our Prep graduation. Ma. Cristina Mahilum, who was then a simple girl, has now become the "walking encyclopedia of the class." Ma. Katrina Chang, who was known for her chinita eyes, has become a chubby, pretty lady (according to JMRD).
Here came two children with their innocent - looking faces. They were Kermit Arellano and the golden - haired Niņa Maria Perez who became the Prince and Snow White, respectively, in the Prep play "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Rucel Ann Legaspi, who was then the wicked witch - queen in the said play, has now turned out to be a boisterous girl of independent nature.
Camille Pascasio, who was the tallest back then, still is one of the "towers", and the "ate" of the class. Paolo Reyes will be remembered for being the first to have eyeglasses at an early age. Unfortunately, Paolo left after Grade Five.
Don Rabusa, who was known for his inherent naughtiness and rapid - fire tongue, caused the blood of the teachers to hit the boiling point. Two cute, chubby boys named Jonathan Baluyot and Jasper medalla also joined the group.
Runah Nieva, who was known for her soothing reflexology techniques, joined our group and grew her silky, black hair. Theodore John Flores, who was a very lively kid, left after a few weeks of June. Katherine Rabina, who was a very quiet and simple girl is now a model of strong character as she is at present the HQ commander of the CAT.
Marlo Marteja was one of the naughty but cute boys in our class. Marlo left after Grade 4. Tyrone Firmeza will also be remembered for being a teacher's nightmare and quite a bit of a scatterbrain. Tyrone was too young for our group so he decided to be left after Grade 4. Kervy Datay was also one of the thorns of our batch and is now a "big" man.
A skinny and friendly lass, that is how Patricia Mae Tan will be remembered. This girl joined us for a long time, but left after Third Year. If you saw a set of "pearly - black teeth" back then, you just saw Imee Bustamante. But her teeth have improved and she also grew to be a graceful swan. Aileen G. Enriquez was also a gentle girl, but now she is a very confident young woman who likes conversations a lot. If you heard a shivering laughter, then you heard the voice of Melvin Ibabao who still has a trace of that unique and infectious laugh.
That is the end of our first journey. Our second destination would be in the Grade One classroom where nine newcomers added to our gay company. Christine James Bustamante was one of the fresh faces who left after the first week of the school year. Hidelisa Evangelista was the sweet mestiza who was always known for her one - sided hairstyle. Rose Ann Herrera was extremely organized with herself. (Just see our class pictures for proof). Sir Isidro San Pedro was one of the kind and chubby boys who joined in our trek. Three lovely girls from NPC joined us. They were Ivory XyZa Teopengco, Julie Anne Rosario, and Josefin Mae Baluyot. John Michael Ceradoy was the thin boy who brought joy to our class and was always competing with Rucel to be the first to finish copying lectures. He left after Grade 4.
Then the second grade approached. Two roses and a thorn joined the sprouts in our class. They were Remellie Baring, Kandice Ann Abaya, and Rowen Ramos, who all added to the happy moments of our class.
The third grade came and we had two new classmates: Khrisna Santos and Gabriel Garcia, who both came from the same school and are very close even up to now.
In Grade Four, Remellie Baring was left behind, while we had an addition to our set of boys in the name of Jacinto dela Cruz.
When we stepped into the Grade Five classroom, seven new faces greeted us. They were Chris Hansel Sta. Ana, Jeeno Marco David, Jomalyn Quicho, Karen Rueda, Anabel Manuel, Jethsimaine Aguilon and Ma. Venice Somo. Christine James Bustamante joined our class again, and this time, she stayed till Fourth Year. Venice was the very first in our class history to have the courage to vote herself as president. Chris and Jeeno were another increase in the boy's population, but Jeeno wasn't able to participate high school life with us. Jomalyn Quicho was the mestiza girl who will be remembered for frequently applying powder on her face. Anabel Manuel was the petite and skinny girl who always invented exotic dance moves. Karen Rueda was very shy, same with Jethsimaine Aguilon, who turned out to be the lyrics collector of the class. Unfortunately, Marlo Marteja and John Michael Ceradoy weren't part of our class since then.
There were no newcomers during Grade Six, but Jacinto dela Cruz and Paolo Reyes left and again diminished the dwindling number of boys in the class.
It was not long before we reached our first year in high school. A bunch of neophytes combined with our group. They were Anna Leah Vichuaco, Ma. Monina Theresa Palomo and Jan Michael Banzon who all came from Balanga Elementary School. Next was a chubby and timid girl named Suzanne Banzon, the long - haired and hyperkinetic Rebecca Paguio, an innocent - looking Ayesa Magnampo, and heavy - browed April Guzman. There was also Christopher Jazz, who joined our class for he wanted to spend another year with Ms. Buenaventura.
Our next stop is our sophomore year. Two ladies from the Tomas del Rosario Academy joined our lively bunch in the persons of Veronica Mendoza and Maureen Mallari. Sad to say, April was no longer with us then. But there came a Hawaiian beauty in our second week as sophomores named Ana Maria Abigail Dizon, who almost always seemed to receive a bunch of flowers at every occasion.
Third Year descended. That year, Maureen transferred to another school while Don flew to Australia. It was this year also that we experienced the glitz and glamour of our first JS Prom, and the hilarious horrors of the Initiation for the cadets and cadettes. In Fourth year, Julie Anne, Mae, and Runah left us for different reasons.
And so, ten long years passed and now we're here, about to leave the school. A class composed of 33 students, known for their unity and uniqueness, will now start another stage in their lives. But before we say farewell, we want to thank our parents and mentors for the support and guidance they've shown us and for molding us to what we are now. We are proud to say that we've become part of The Peninsula School's history.
